Take the SkyFari Aerial Tram for an uplifting ride over the zoo’s canopy of leafy trees for a view of the animals below. It is not even just worth the money, it will SAVE you a ton of money. Most of the activities on this list as well as things like the Birch Aquarium, Belmont Park (great for older kids), Whale Watching (see the blue whales! All of these were kid friendly. We have a trip to San Diego at the end of the month with a 4 year old. I did verify this with some of the workers there and it was totally fine for them to go run and around in it! Older kids love the San Diego beach culture and spending a day at one of its many beaches is one of the best things to do in San Diego with teens! Prior to going into the water the guide does a great job telling you about the lakefront in San Diego and pointing out all of the points of interest. The African Tram is the park’s king attraction. Wow, this is an impressive article – quite a reference for San Diego. Must give this a try during our next visit to America’s Finest City! But there was no way we would skip the San Diego Zoo. There are so many attractions in San Diego to take your kids to. Kids as young as five can give surfing a try—and there's no better place to ride the waves than in San Diego. Like the Science Center, it wasn’t huge but was a nice place to go to explore and learn about the area during one of the rainy days we had when we were in San Diego. Riders spy on such creatures as rhinos, giraffes and Cape buffaloes. Spend an entire day riding the rides, seeing shows, and visiting the animals at Sea World San Diego… Cooler spring and fall temperatures mean more space to relax and spread out a beach blanket. We highly recommend taking a tour when you visit a new city and Get Your Guide has some great options for booking tours ahead of time so you don’t have to wait in line and can just get right on the tour! Some hotels do offer free shuttles to the main attractions, but San Diego is definitely spread out so planning to rent a car or use Uber/Lyft is definitely the way to go. There's also a visitor center that's home to many exciting exhibitions about space.
