I love Intrepid Travel. Having said all this, I would still choose a trip based on what appeals to you. Yes, again in europe but they do tours in Asia as well. Members who are knowledgeable about this destination and volunteer their time to answer travelers' questions. They give you a ship map and there are tons of volunteers and staff walking around to help. I did Thailand with Intrepid over Christmas. I would suggest you read the reviews and see if you can get onto a trip with a guide that gets good reviews. I also did colours of asia and did not like this one (singapore, malaysia, and thailand)...would not recommend going there personally. "

Hotels themselves (according to their websites) charge less than this. They also have less adventure more luxury style trips too but that doesn't interest me. Irrespective of the company and trip you choose, the trip's success does rely on a good guide and to some degree the other people in your group. Our guide Bhupesh was brilliant, although a little more down time would have been good, overall we had an amazing adventure and would definitely book another intrepid tour. had a terrific guide, saw all the major sites, had wonderful food & cooking classes.
