I mean seriously, this book had me so invested that when it revealed the big twist…I felt emotionally scarred. A loyalty program that rewards you for your love of reading. Charlotte seems to spend some time pondering their relationship—or more specifically, her feelings towards Paul—and knows she is embittered and scarred by her own alcoholic, drug-taking and negligent mother.
